SupervisorDepartment: OperationsSUMMARY:Provides leadership to one
or more departments within the larger operations department at our
Williams, Oregon facility to ensure that the team achieves quality,
cost, safety, and regulatory goals. This role will supervise the
off shift / weekend operations, with the exact shift to be
determinedESSENTIAL DUTIES: Include the following, other duties may
be assigned:
- Understand and implement all quality/regulatory requirements;
assure that products meet or exceed Herb Pharm specifications and
quality parameters.
- Champion continuous improvement in production quality including
root cause analysis, and process improvement plans.
- Approve production records and assist quality in the
investigation of discrepancies
- Ensure that Herb Pharm employees are trained in safety
procedures, that safety rules and procedures are followed and
provide performance feedback as applicable.
- Participate in Safety Committee meetings as required and follow
up on action plans to resolve safety issues.
- Motivate employees through communication, ongoing employee
development, and coaching.
- Conduct Feedback Loops with staff members to reinforce good
performance and provide course correction as necessary.
- Ensure that policies (attendance, GMP,etc.) are consistently
followed, and employee relations issues are appropriately resolved
in a manner consistent with Herb Pharm culture.
- Ensure that company communication is shared and
understood.
- Responsible for employee timecard approvals
- Ensure that all personnel have been adequately trained to
perform the functions of their job and follow SOPs.
- Assess, identify, and implement training needs of staff and
participate in development of training programs as required.
- Assure compliance with and documentation of all regulatory
requirements including, among others, GMP, FSMA, and organic
certification – know where to access required regulations.
- Meets or exceeds volume, yield, and cost targets.
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of production data to
include analysis of data to improve departmental production
performance and efficiencies.
- Assess, identify, and implement training needs of staff and
participate in development of training programs as required.

certification – know where to access required regulations.

- Assists Operations Manager and Vice President of Operations
with a variety of other projects, as requested.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops, reviewing professional publications,
establishing personal networks, visiting other manufacturing
facilities, and participating in industry and professional
societies.QUALIFICATIONS:To be successful in this job, an

- Bachelor's degree or combination of education and
experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a production environment in a
supervisory role with a demonstrated track record of increasing
responsibilities and leadership.
- Experience in the food industry and quality assurance/food
safety programs; experience in herbal or supplement industry
preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively in front of others.MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,
interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area,
circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram or schedule form.INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to
understand communications from others.
- Ability to maintain composure, listen and respond
appropriately.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- A pre-employment physical is required prior to employment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as
well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
- Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
- Ethics and ability to build effective relationships working
