Job Description:
Duties As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULICS SYSTEM MECHANIC (TITLE 32),
WG-8268-10, this technician position serves as a Pneudraulic System
Mechanic within a fuel systems shop responsible for inspection,
repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel cells and in-flight
refueling systemsUtilizing extensive knowledge of fuel systems
maintenance practices and procedures, incumbent troubleshoots the
systems and determines extent and type of preventive and/or repair
maintenance required and performs all necessary repairs,
installation and operational checks1Utilizing electrical wiring
diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications,
determines extent and type of preventative and/or repair
maintenance requiredPerforms organizational and intermediate
maintenance on aircraft fuel systems components, and equipment to
include fuel cells, drop tanks, regulators, pumps, relief valves
and fuel accessoriesAlso performs required maintenance RC-
activities associated with time compliance technical orders (TCTC)
involving aircraft fuel systems, in-flight refueling systems and
related components2Connects power sources, and using cockpit
controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, performs
operational and functional checks of in-flight refueling, single
point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves,
pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices3Performs leak check
of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of
panels and dye tracing fuel leaksDetermines serviceability of fuel
cell sealant and replaces it when requiredExamines faulty
components and determines feasibility of repair, replacement and/or
need for submitting unsatisfactory reportsRepairs, reassembles, and
installs fuel system components and performs operational tests
using bench and other related test equipment4Diagnoses and
overhauls fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and
examining parts for corrosion, scratches, cracks or other
damageReplaces gaskets and worn parts, reassembles accessories,
adjusts and tests to insure proper operation in accordance with
standards in technical dataControls entry into fuel cell repair
areas5Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness
evaluations such as ORIIG and DE inspections, mobility, and command
support exercisesMay be required to perform such additional duties
as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/ crash/rescue duty,
security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling heavy
equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or
serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil
emergencies6Performs other duties as assignedRequirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Work involved in the maintenance,
modification, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
associated with aircraftThe work requires: knowledge of the
physical principles governing the behavior of fluids (liquids and
gases) as they pertain to hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their
components; knowledge of aircraft structures and the relationship
of hydraulic pneumatic systems to the structure and other aircraft
systems; knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles;
the ability to use technical manuals and schematics and to test for
and isolate malfunctions in hydraulic and pneumatic systems; and
the skill to effect modifications, repairs, or maintenance
requiredExperience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of
basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of
troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft
pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals,
equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in
performing the workMust have at least 18 months experience or
training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and
mechanical principlesExperience in maintaining fuel, oil, and
vacuum hose linesExperience in servicing, maintaining,
disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and
pneumatic systemsExperience in diagnosing malfunctions and
overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part
and examining partsExperience in diagnosing trouble and determining
remediesExperience in repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling major
systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic
systemsExperience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test
equipmentExperience that demonstrates the ability to interpret
technical manuals, specifications, and publicationsEducation This
