Job Description:

Overview:The Residential Program teacher is responsible for the development, planning, preparation and delivery of academic activities in the classroom.Responsibilities:Responsible for the development, planning, preparation and delivery of academic activities in the classroom.Responsible for scheduling, maintaining and developing IEP'S or PEP'S on all students in the program. Responsible for all record keeping in regard to academic activities on all students. Establish and maintain appropriate/therapeutic relationships with students in the program. Maintain high ethical standards with regard to treatment and confidentiality. Participate in the formulation of social, emotional and behavioral goals and in quarterly reviews of those goals. Meet, as needed, with treatment staff and education staff for planning, training, and other purposes related to adolescent treatment and education goals. Establish/maintain open communication with RTC/EA staff, therapist, supervisor, and work cooperatively as a team member. Maintain a working relationship with SOESD and keep up to date with required documentation. Communicate pertinent information to RTC/EA and Supervisor as necessary. Demonstrate skills in non-violent crisis intervention and physical restraint. Observe all policies and procedures. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the BRS Manager.
Qualifications:Preferred Master's degree Special Education. Current Oregon Teaching License. Proper endorsements to teach Elementary/Middle School level.Physically fit to the degree that (after CPI training) can physically restrain youth as necessary.Must be an excellent communicator with the skills to acknowledge the needs of others and recognizing various points of view.Must be able to clear a background check conducted through ODHS.
