Position Summary: The CAL-ORE Life Flight (COLF) A&P
Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily airworthiness
and safety of the In-Service aircraft, ensuring safe and efficient
high-quality patient transport. The A&P Maintenance Technician
will perform all maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and
alterations according to all airworthiness directives, service
bulletins, service letters and applicable Federal Aviation
Regulations (FAA), company policies and procedures
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
--- Supports and conducts both daily and advanced inspections to
include aircraft airworthiness checks, aircraft ground support
equipment, aircraft parts inventory, and shipping and receiving,
repair disposition.
--- Conducts scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in a timely
manner as necessary, with safety as the primary consideration.
--- Conducts heavier inspections, repairs and modifications,
performing duties and tasks as assigned commensurate with
individual skills and abilities in accordance with federal
regulations.
--- Application of continuous improvement within the
team/division.
--- Provides input in establishing base maintenance processes and
ensures adherence to COLF's maintenance processes.
--- Interacts on regular basis with aircraft maintenance company
representatives, FAA, CAMTS, & COLF's pilots and clinical teams
--- Special projects as required.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Qualifications
--- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
--- 3-5 years A&P mechanic experience performing fixed-wing
maintenance as required.
--- Inspection Authorization preferred and/or experience working
under CFR Parts 135
--- Proficient in maintenance associated with current twin engine
fixed wing mechanical and system experience or equivalent.
--- Ability to understand Maintenance Manuals and diagrams.
--- Apply information to troubleshooting problems.
--- Knowledge of safety protocols and limits to your abilities.
--- Electrical and electronics knowledge.
--- Advanced aircraft systems and records knowledge.
--- Advanced logistics decision-making skills and aircraft
maintenance planning skills.
--- Effective leadership and communication skills.
--- Valid Driver's License and proof of liability insurance.
--- Basic computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Windows
environment.

--- Responsiveness : Required to carry a cell phone to provide
uncontrollable standby on an as-needed basis with a one (1) hour
response time.
--- Professional Decorum : Ability to interact with crewmembers at
a professional level under all circumstances.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is frequently required to do the following:
--- Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol
testing program
--- Utilize visual acuity to read technical information, use hands
to finger, handle, feel.
--- Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel,
crouch, or crawl.
--- Perform activities requiring a moderate amount of standing,
sitting, and walking.
--- Capable of lifting 50lbs.
Work Environment: Entails exposure to indoor and outdoor weather
conditions, may be exposed to loud aircraft noise, fumes, gasses,
odors, dust particles and mechanical/electrical and chemical
hazards.
Required Equipment:
--- Personal tools or ability to acquire tools specific to aircraft
maintenance.
--- Dependable personal car
--- Cell phone (personal or company).
Work Schedule:
--- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts with limited "on call".
--- Some optional overtime-based shop workload
--- Some staggered shift and/or start times
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Director of
Maintenance.
