Job Description:
Summary Are you a skilled and ambitious professional looking for
an exciting career opportunity? Look no further than our Municipal
Court! We're currently seeking two (2) highly skilled Court
Specialists to join our team and contribute to the smooth and
efficient operation of our court system. Minimum Required
Qualifications: * Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. *
Two (2) or more years of experience in social work, judicial, legal
or law enforcement field which must include clerical,
administrative support or customer relations experience. * Must be
18 years of age or older. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: *
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. *
Ability to accurately process cash transactions. * Ability to
effectively use office equipment and computer software,
specifically in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook, etc. * Ability to obtain Law Enforcement Data Systems
(LEDS) certification within six months of employment. * Ability to
obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance upon
hire. * Completion of a background investigation to the
satisfaction of the City. Desired Attributes: * Knowledge of laws,
rules, and regulations concerning the operation of municipal
government. * Judicial experience, especially jury administration
and management. * Knowledge of court documents, terminology, and
procedures. * Knowledge of Tyler Technologies software (aka
Municipal Justice 10). * Bilingual ability to speak, read, and
write in English and Spanish. Employees bilingual in
English/Spanish may receive an additional 5% differential.
Available Schedules: * 8 Hours, Monday - Friday * 9/80 The
anticipated hiring range for theCourt Specialist position is
$20.23(first step) to $21.24or $22.30(second or third step).
Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated
alongside others who perform work of comparable character as
required by Pay Equity Law.Sixsteps are included in this salary
range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

The Chamber Examples of Job Duties These duties are a
representative example; position assignments may vary depending on
the business needs of the department and organization. This
position: * Provides general and technical administrative support
to the Municipal Court and all Court activities. Prepares and
processes documents, reports and correspondence files. Answers
phones, processes mail, files, etc. * Uses exceptional
interpersonal communication and customer service skills to support
clients and defuse and resolve issues for difficult, sometimes
angry/hostile customers. * Executes the timely processing of
pending cases, which includes preparation of the Court Docket: the
scheduling of appearances, execution of warrants, subpoenas, writs,
orders and notices. * Processes the collection, receipt, and
transfer of fines, monies, and other funds that pass through the
Court system. * Responds to inquiries and provides assistance to
the public and City personnel regarding routine requests for Court
related matters and information. * Scope of assigned area will
depend on departmental and/or citywide operational structure and is
at the discretion of the Supervisor. * Upholds the values of the
organization and has strong customer service orientation. * Must
have the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with
others in the workplace. * Foster an environment that embraces
diversity, integrity, trust, and respect. * Be an integral team
player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication.
