The Sr. HR Business Partner serves as a consultant to management on
human resources related issues and participates as an HR team
member in developing and implementing corporate programs and
initiatives. This position requires a perceptive person who can
relate to individuals at all levels within the organization and
balancing employee considerations with business priorities. This
position requires hands-on tactical work and service delivery as
well as strategic advice and leadership coaching. Demonstrated
experience in multiple HR disciplines is necessary, and qualified
candidates must demonstrate advanced business acumen.
Principal Responsibilities
- Provides human resources consultation and support to assigned
business groups to define and execute HR strategies that enable
accomplishment of business objectives.
- Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to
provide tactical support to management.
- Conducts regular recurring meetings with assigned business
groups.
- Advises management on the interpretation and application of HR
policies and procedures.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Manages
and tracks all employee disciplinary actions.
- Supports new hire onboarding activities for all employees in
assigned location(s).
- Acts as a liaison with other HR functions to develop and
implement solutions, programs, and policies.
- Leads or assists with assessment and development of strategies
to address issues of workflow improvement and/or organization
structure for assigned business group.
- Supports and implements corporate programs and training for
assigned business groups, including performance management,
compensation benchmarking and administration, benefits open
enrollment, employee recognition programs, etc.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work
relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention,
embracing corporate values and culture that is an integral part of
Alera Group's continued growth and success.Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
- Understanding of HR compliance and federal and state laws
regarding employment practices.
Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a larger HR
team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all the disciplines of human
resources.
- Solid knowledge of employment law with ability to advise, coach
and counsel managers regarding employee issues. Personal Attributes

Education
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related
disciplines, such as psychology, sociology, or communications, is
required.
- A master's degree in HR management, organizational development,
or business, is strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications are such as SPHR/PHR or CEBS are
valued but not required.Experience
- 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, ideally in
a well-regarded organization that sees the human resources function
as strategic and values a thoughtful and progressive approach to
organizational development and talent management.
- Private equity experience working in a medium to large,
multi-location portfolio company, preferred.
- Previous exposure to the insurance, financial services, and/or
professional services industries, preferred.
- Familiarity with regional differences within the U.S with
multi-site/multi-state presence.
- Experience integrating new acquisitions into an
organization.
- Domestic travel of 5-10% will be expected.
- Candidate for this position will ideally reside in Texas,
preferably in the Dallas or Houston metro areas.
