Location: REMOTE
Wage Range:$50-55/hr

Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an
immediate opening for an Advanced Usability Specialist to work
remote in the U.S.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or
field or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of
relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years
of relevant experience.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience:
- Diverse research approaches, including qualitative and
quantitative data collection
- Is well versed in UX research best practices and
planning/conducting user research
- Ability to plan and facilitates collaboration between
cross-functional team members and stakeholders
- Can synthesize multiple inputs into a cohesive approach and get
buy-in
- Makes compelling artifacts and presentations that are framed
appropriately for the audience and goals
- Understands how to represent the needs of the user throughout
discovery, design, and development process/product life
cycle
- Understanding of Agile would be nice
Education/Qualifications:
- Prefer an M.S. in Experimental Psychology, Human Factors,
Cognitive Psychology, Statistics, User Experience, Computer
Science, or related field + 3 years of experience in planning and
facilitating a range of qualitative and quantitative research types
from usability testing to exploratory discovery projects
- Or B.S. in Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive
Psychology, Statistics, User Experience, Computer Science, or
related field + 5 years of experience
- End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study
design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)
- Full understanding of the balance of user needs, business
needs, and technical capabilities

What you will do:
- Collaborate with a diverse group of cross-functional product,
design, IT, and engineering
- Apply a range of research methods and approaches to distill
undefined, unclear problems into cohesive research questions and
directions
- Plan and facilitate qualitative and quantitative research
studies
- Analyze data, and present findings
- Synthesize multiple inputs to provide user-centered and
actionable insights for product decision-making
- Produce user personas, workflows, journey maps, and other
artifacts relevant to early UX design
- Defend design decisions with compelling, research-based
rationale
- Present research findings, recommendations, and solutions to
non-UX project teams
- Effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
