our benefits, visit our website! About the Job We have a Full-Time
opening for a Veterans Housing Specialist in Jackson County,
Oregon. This position works directly with Veterans with a history
of houselessness. Primary responsibilities include assisting them
with housing searches, rental applications and requirements,
HUD/alternative subsidy applications, benefits systems, public
transportation, employment searches and applications, and other
tasks that help Veterans towards self-sufficiency. The Veterans
Housing Specialist will also help Veterans maintain residence and
learn skills to become as independent as possible in the community.
The Veterans Housing Specialist may be required to provide
intervention and crisis management services, prepare meals, and
ensure that policies are being followed by residents. In addition,
you will receive crisis de-escalation training, which requires
performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.
Work Schedule: Thursday through Monday, 9:00am - 6:00pm (Full Time
Day) What You'll Make$20.00 - $22.00 per hour DOE/Credentials.
Additional 5% Language Differential offered for Bilingual or
Multilingual candidates (Spanish/English desired). About the
ProgramThe Valor Pass program provides outreach and case management
services to veterans who are houseless or at risk of becoming
houseless. These services include multiple levels of care,
including outreach to shelters, a contract residential treatment
site, transitional housing, and Veteran Affairs Supported Housing
(VASH). All eligible veterans are encouraged to accept referral to
medical clinics for assessment of physical and health. In addition,
we coordinate with VA clinics that are also available for
assistance with chemical dependency and problems with mental
health. ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the
Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. QMHA employees are
also eligible to apply for the Oregon Behavioral Health Loan
Repayment Program. What You'll NeedThis position does not require
that applicants be Veterans; however, preference will be given to
Veterans. The successful candidate will have:Experience working
with houseless individuals, Veterans, and the Public Housing
AuthorityFamiliarity with community resourcesAdministrative office
experience, with good verbal and written communication skills The
ability to deal with multiple project deadlines and overlapping
responsibilities Attention to detail and strong organizational and
multi-tasking skillsTravel within Jackson County using a company
vehicle is REQUIREDA Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Human
Services, or related field is preferred Successful applicants MUST
also have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving
record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
