Job Description:

Desktop Support Specialist supports the day-to-day hardware / software infrastructure needed to maintain and operate the various departments at TPx Communications at an optimal level.Reports To (Supervisor/Manager):Works under the supervision of the Supervisor and /or ManagerDirect Reports: NoneEssential Duties and Responsibilities:* Provide desktop support to 1800+ users on day-to-day issues involving MS Office functions, Windows 2000, XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and standard applications for a user community covering multiple facilities in multiple states* Participate in special projects such as equipment moves, repair/ maintenance of network printers and Corp. computers* Assist in standardizing PC configurations and providing Hardware / Software updates including Operating System, Network Client, hard drive, memory, CD-ROM, Printer, Scanner, etc.* Assist users in the operation of standard PC equipment including PCs, Printers, Phones and peripherals* Assist users with Companywide email operation and support (Office 365, Outlook, web-based email, etc.).* Timely customer follow up and status reports until issue is resolved* Responsible for Desktop Support requirements to meet and maintain the Service Level Agreements (SLA)* Document all issue resolution in the IT Service Desk trouble ticket system* Assist with the Networking team and phone support when needed.* Provide communication on all escalated issues to management and documenting progress of assigned incidents* Cover rotating on-call responsibilities during off-hours with the availability to provide after-hour coverage on a periodic basis* Create and update computer images and image existing and new hardware needing deployment* Operate a motor Vehicle* Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned* Ability to drive personal or company vehicle is an essential function of this position in accordance with company policy.Peripheral Duties:* May be required to perform the job of Corporate Communicator sending out email notifications as needed 24/7* May be required to collect and dispose of old and outdated equipment identified (e-Waste)* Troubleshoot and support mobile phones, tablets and other mobile devices* Maintain accurate inventory* Order parts and equipment from vendors* Interact with vendors to troubleshoot issues* Handle incoming and outgoing IT Service Desk mail needed at various offices.Desired Minimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:* High School diploma and 3 years additional schooling/technical training* One to Three years of IT/Desktop Support or PC Support experience working in a large corporate environment* Certifications desired A+, MCSE, and MCP* Valid Driver's LicenseNecessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Ability to utilize computer operating systems utilities* Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory domain model, Windows 2000, XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10 environments and network technology* Ability to logically troubleshoot common desktop support issues; including standard PC Hardware, peripherals and the ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues* Must be PC literate and be able to support Microsoft Office products (Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)* Ability to document work in progress. Strong troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and organizational skills are essential* Ability to analyze and solve problems* Ability to work weekends and / or rotations as required* The individual must be a strong team player with the ability to manage critical issues concurrently while remaining focused on the business impact and production support.* Ability to work well with team members / customers and be able to mitigate issue escalations* Must be proficient and fluent in the English language* Must have the ability to regularly communicate in a manner that is respectful and professional* This is a fast-paced environment and the individual must possess a willingness and ability to adapt, overcome, and succeed in a constantly changing technical business environmentSpecial Requirements:* Ability to work weekends and / or rotations as required* 40-65% travel required to outlying offices for new hire setup or technical support* Ability to operate a motor vehicle* Must have clean DMV driving recordTools and Equipment Used:* Personal computer, including word-processing, database and spreadsheet applications* VOIP telephone* Imaging hardware and software* Printer tools, copy and fax machines* Other various IT related tools required for the desktop support positionPhysical Demands:* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
