Job Description:
Position: Executive Director of Ashland Supportive Housing and
Community Outreach (ASH) Reports to: Board of Directors Salary:
$92,000 Status: Full time, Exempt, typically Monday-Friday business
hours Benefits: paid sick leave; paid vacation after intro. period;

match. Location: In Person, Ashland, Oregon Ashland Supportive
Housing and Community Outreach supports people with intellectual
and developmental disabilities to live rich, fulfilling, and
productive lives with dignity and respect. ASH provides 24/7
residential services for adults with intellectual and developmental
disabilities (I/DD). Services are provided in three- or
five-person, single-family residential homes located in Ashland,
Oregon. ASH ensures that the people we support receive services in
settings that are integrated in and support the same degree of
access to the greater community as people not receiving home and
community-based services. ASH also provides Community Living
Support Services (CLS) coordinated with Support Service Brokerages
in the State of Oregon. Candidate Profile The Executive Director is
a mission-driven leader responsible for the overall management,
strategic direction, and operational success of ASH. The Executive
Director ensures the organization delivers high-quality supportive
housing and services for individuals with intellectual and
developmental disabilities while maintaining compliance with
regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and
ethical leader with a clear commitment to the dignity, civil
rights, and wellbeing of the individuals served by the
organization. This individual demonstrates strong organizational
leadership, financial stewardship, and the ability to guide staff
and board members through planning and prioritizing. The Executive
Director serves as the primary representative of the organization
in the community and maintains productive relationships with
government agencies, partner organizations, and stakeholders. They
lead by example, promote a healthy work environment, and ensure
that the organization’s mission, values, and goals guide daily
operations and long-term planning. Organizational Leadership and
Strategy Maintain a clear vision of the agency’s mission, values,
and goals and ensure they guide all operational decisions. Lead
organizational planning and innovation to support high-quality
services and long-term sustainability. Stay informed of
innovations, regulatory developments, and best practices in
services for individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities. Promote a positive public presence for the
organization through community outreach, marketing, social media,
and public speaking. Represent the organization with external
agencies, community partners, and governmental entities. Manage
organizational change and help staff adapt effectively to evolving
needs and systems. Seek and listen to staff input when possible and
appropriate. Lead by example by demonstrating integrity,
accountability, and commitment to a healthy workplace culture.
Consider opportunities for growth, additional programs, services,
and infrastructure improvements and present to the board when
opportunities align with organizational goals. Financial Management
Develop the organization’s annual operating budget, in
collaboration with the contract bookkeeper, presenting to the board
for approval. Oversee and monitor monthly operational expenditures
in collaboration with the contract bookkeeper, CPA, and the Board
Finance Committee. Ensure responsible financial stewardship and
fiscal accountability. Oversee organizational expenditures,
purchases, and investments consistent with the board-approved
budget, seeking board approval for significant budget variances.
Lead grant development, fundraising, and other revenue-generating
activities to support programs and infrastructure when appropriate
for organizational needs and goals. Administration Secure and
maintain all required licenses. Ensure compliance with and timely
responses to communication about applicable federal, state, and
local regulations governing program operations. Develop and
implement organizational and employment policies and procedures.
Ensure procedures are upheld that protect clients’ dignity, civil
and human rights, including: Confidentiality and privacy Behavior
management Personal finances and property protections Grievances
Maintain a high level of ongoing communication with individuals and
families, being consistently responsive to questions from
employees. Maintain overall responsibility for maintenance and
management of agency facilities, daily operations, property, and
activities. Supervision Model professional behavior and promote a
healthy organizational culture that is respectful, safe and
supportive. Direct the hiring, training, and evaluation of all
personnel. Supervise management staff and contracted service
providers. Provide ongoing direction, feedback, and professional
support to leadership staff. Ensure clear expectations,
accountability, and consistent performance management. Address
personnel issues and take appropriate corrective or disciplinary
actions when necessary. Board Relations Provide timely and accurate
information about organizational operations, performance, and
strategic issues. Inform the Board about relevant state and federal
policy developments affecting the organization. Work
collaboratively with the Board to develop organizational goals and
strategic plans and advance advocacy efforts when needed. Support
Board committees and ensure they have the information necessary to
fulfill governance responsibilities. Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. These experiences substitute
for a degree: four years in developmental disabilities services in
Oregon, or six years in a related field: psychology, sociology,
human services, education, or social work. Minimum of two years of
experience in intellectual or developmental disabilities, including
at least one year providing supervision. Knowledge of regulatory
requirements and best practices related to services for individuals
with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong
organizational, financial, and planning skills. Excellent
communication and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated
leadership and management experience in human services or nonprofit
setting preferred. Valid Driver’s License. How to Apply: Nonprofit
