Experience: - One year experience in an acute health care setting
preferred - One year experience in acute rehabilitation care
setting preferred License: - Registered Nurse license
Certifications: - BLS - ACLS (preferred) - PALS (preferred)
Must-Have: - Prior acute rehabilitation experience - Ability to
float to telemetry/monitoring department Description: The
Registered Nurse in the acute care setting manages the patient and
family experience. This is accomplished through critical thinking,
teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment. The nurse
provides both indirect and direct care to patients ranging from
infants to geriatrics, with a primary focus on adults and
geriatrics. Utilizing the nursing process, the nurse assesses,
plans, implements, and evaluates to meet physiological,
psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs of patients and
their families. The nurse is responsible for managing care for
assigned patients and directing the activities of ancillary staff.
Comprehensive nursing care is delivered in collaboration with
nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services.
Individualized goal-directed nursing care is provided through the
nursing processes and documentation from admission to discharge. 5
