The National Health Service Core (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program is open to licensed primary care medical, dental, and mental and behavioral health providers who are employed by accredited sites. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range. Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on youth development during a critical time in their lives? As a Youth Development Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to supporting youth in their journey toward emotional growth and skill development. In this role, you will help youth build life skills like anger management, self-regulation, social interaction, and ensuring their well-being and safety throughout the night. Key Responsibilities & Performance Expectation: - Support & Supervision Overnight: Monitor and ensure the safety of youth during all hours. Provide a calm, structured environment that supports restful sleep and emotional stability. - Therapeutic Interventions: Engage with youth as needed, offering therapeutic support and guidance in areas such as stress management and self-regulation, particularly for those who may experience day/nighttime anxiety or behavioral issues. - Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond to any crisis situations that may arise during your shift, employing de-escalation techniques and following non-violent physical intervention protocols when necessary. - Daily Living Assistance: Assist with routine tasks, including meal preparation for the next shift, light housekeeping, and preparation for the next days activities. - Accurate Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of youth behaviors, interventions, and any incidents that occur overnight to ensure seamless communication with the daytime team. - Medication Administration: Administer medications as needed during the shift and ensure all medication logs are maintained accurately. Success in This Role Looks Like: - Ensuring a safe and secure environment for youth throughout the day. - Effectively responding to and de-escalating crisis situations with calm, professional intervention. - Keeping clinical records updated and ensuring proper communication with the oncoming shift team. - Supporting youth in routines, contributing to their overall development and well-being. Qualifications:Must meet State of Oregon (OARs) requirements and hold MHACBO certification as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA). Minimum qualifications include: - A Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field; or - A combination of at least three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience. Licenses & Certifications: - Must have a valid Oregon drivers license, an insurable driving record, and personal automobile insurance if using a personal vehicle for agency business. QMHA certification must be maintained for the duration of employment.
