the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment
and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC.Works with
manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair
of building plumbing and wiring required in the production
process.POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works from blueprints,
schematic drawings or rough sketches to determine work
procedures.Makes periodic or special inspections of the facility,
related machinery or equipment to determine repair work
necessary.Maintains and repairs building plumbing, HVAC and
electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective
parts.Assemble, dismantle and overhaul facilities and related
machinery and equipment using hand and power tools.Moves,
assembles, installs and repairs machinery and equipment such as
shafting, precision bearings, gear boxes, motors, mechanical
clutchers, conveyors and tram rails, using hoists, pulleys,
dollies, rollers and trucks.Overhauls machines and conducts
preventative maintenance by lubrication of machinery, bearing
replacement, seal replacement, cleaning of parts, etc.Constructs
and fabricates parts as needed to repair or modify
machines.Performs carpentry or painting in the construction,
repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office
fixtures.Operates and maintains site equipment using power and hand
tools as necessary. Experience in the use of lathes, milling
machines and grinders preferred. Absent experience, must be willing
to learn.Experience in arc welding, mig and tig welding and
oxyacetylene cutting preferred.May make repairs to parking lot and
sidewalks with asphalt and concrete, operate snow removal
equipment, and make repairs to or replace building brick, stone and
concrete.May work with outside contractors on building and
equipment repairs.May perform general support duties as needed such
as audio-visual (AV) setup for meetings, move furniture and storage
supplies, office setup.Other duties as assigned.SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, GED or Trade Certifications. Typically
requires a minimum of 4 to 6 years of related experience.Working
knowledge of relay logic, PLCs, instrumentation and computers is
required.Basic computer skills and experience using Outlook and
Excel is required.Good troubleshooting skills.Ability and
willingness to be on call, work various shifts and work overtime as
needed.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
required.Able to read and interpret documents, operating and
maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Able to solve
problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram or schedule form.Experience in fluid mechanics, hydraulics
and pneumatics preferred.Experience in welding and HVAC is
preferred.Electrical license preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK
ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is
regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and
reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to
stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is
occasionally required to sit; climb or balance (such as use a
ladder) and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by
this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently
exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is
occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high,
precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic
chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually
