committed, enthusiastic, and team-oriented K-5 teacher to
contribute to our educational community. Reporting to the
Principal, the ideal candidate is success oriented and child
centered and will adhere to all KUA standards. We are looking for
candidates who demonstrate resilience and a proactive attitude,
focusing on solutions rather than dwelling on challenges. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may
be assigned. Teaching Plan and execute engaging lessons aligned
with the approved curriculum Instruct students individually and in
groups, using various teaching methods, such as whole-group
instruction, discussions and demonstrations. Foster a positive and
inclusive learning environment Provide a variety of materials and
resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in
learning activities and in imaginative play Plan and conduct
activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and
work time that provides students with opportunities to observe,
question and investigate Adapt teaching methods and instructional
materials to meet students' varying needs and interests Communicate
with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and
to determine priorities for their children and their resource
needs. Collaborate and plan equitably with grade level PLC's at
least one time per week with documentation shared with
administration Embrace and be open to coaching and feedback
Regularly assess student progress, gather and utilize accurate data
to inform and support teaching decisions and provide targeted
interventions Familiarize yourself with and actively use
recommended engagement strategies throughout instruction Submit
weekly lesson plans by Sunday of each week to administrator Ensure
smooth transitions between activities by actively supervising and
guiding students during all transitions Observation: Participate in
at least 2 formal and 2 informal observations throughout the year
Understand that unannounced check-ins from administrators and
coaches are important for program health Open to ongoing feedback
loop between teacher and administrator Collaboration: Create a
detailed scope and sequence consisting of integrated unit plans
with your PLC and follow grade level team plans in order to support
all students Believe in and support a culture of "our students" vs
"my class" or "my students" Work closely with fellow teachers and
IAs to promote a collaborative and supportive educational
atmosphere Attend and actively contribute to all staff meetings and
professional development sessions Attend and participate actively
in at least 1 data sort per trimester Attend scheduled MTSS team
meetings with necessary data prepared and aligned to MTSS
requirements Regularly communicate and plan with ELD, SPED, and
specials teachers to insure that student needs are met and to plan
subject integration when possible Plan and prepare for (in
conjunction with administration and support staff) one family night
per year Utilize opportunities to collaboratively develop the
mission and vision with leadership Support the vision and direction
set forth by leadership Professionalism: Be prepared for
instruction prior to the beginning of instruction Work full
contract hours (8 hours) Adhere to the Master Schedule and
understand that collective resources (including materials and
support staff) should be used equitably with a student-centered
approach Facilitate the development of a nurturing and inclusive
environment within our school community, fostering a culture where
every individual feels valued and belongs Demonstrate unwavering
punctuality and reliability in attending all scheduled meetings and
duties Uphold the highest standards of professionalism in
interactions with students, colleagues, and parents Actively
participate in culture-building activities and events during
working hours If punctuality and attendance become a concern, a
meeting will be held to discuss concerns and resolutions Maintain
appropriate attendance and attire Weekly communication with all
families (via Remind, email, phone call) Recognize that the teacher
is the primary contact between families and the school and regular
communication is the responsibility of the teacher for discipline
and positive messages Input parent contacts into synergy as soon as
possible following contact PTO must be communicated 2 weeks in
advance Day of absence must be communicated at least 1 hour before
contract start time Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements Participate regularly in school wide events, including
evening events (4 nights/year) Attend at least two Site Council
meetings per year Commitment to punctuality for all scheduled
meetings and events Demonstrated ability to be a team player and
actively contribute to a collaborative educational environment
Follow Administrative guidelines Proactive attitude/solution
oriented The nature of what we do and how we succeed at KUA
requires that the scope of every position may periodically change
based on operational demands to ensure we are meeting or exceeding
every student's educational requirement Qualifications: Bachelor's
degree, or higher, in Education or a related field (preferred)
Teaching - 1 year experience (preferred) Genuine passion for
education and a steadfast commitment to student success Exceptional
interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to work
effectively within a team, fostering a positive and collaborative
